British news channels, take note: we should never cover 9/11 tributes on television ever again because they “aren’t tailored for a UK audience.” And we should expect the American public to be completely understanding about it when we choose not to do so, because there is nothing offensive, xenophobic or mind-bogglingly rude about glossing over the mass murder of innocent people.
“Not tailored to the US audience?” It’s the London Olympics, you stupid bellends. This might shock and amaze you, but the idea of a host country’s opening ceremony is not to pay a tribute to the greatness of America. Revolutionary as this concept sounds, we actually wanted to share our culture and history with the world in an engaging and exciting way. Crazy, I know.
